Apple Threatened To pay U.S. $ 1 M to Nokia

nokia-iphoneNokia sued Apple related to alleged infringement of technology patents in the iPhone. If Nokia wins this lawsuit, Apple would probably dizzy because they expected to pay Nokia to some U.S. $ 1 billion.

In his complaint, Nokia claims Apple violates 10 patents in technologies such as wireless data transfer. Neil Mawston as an analyst at Strategy Analytics said, if found guilty, Apple may have to pay between U.S. $ 200 million to U.S. $ 1 billion because the patent is used in approximately 34 million iPhones.

Nokia itself is the key patent holders, including the realm of mobile technology, in addition to Qualcomm and Ericsson. This makes Nokia’s position in the cast is strong enough on the Apple lawsuit.

“It’s almost inconceivable parties can produce a mobile phone without using Nokia’s patented technology,” said Ben Wood, director of research at Insight CSS.

Nokia itself said that they had actually tried to offer a way of peace on the condition that Apple will pay for Nokia’s patents. But the vendors are from the United States did not agree.

Nokia claims to all products, including versions of original iPhone and 3G, using patented technology belongs to this Finnish company.

Nokia: Apple Violates Our Patents

nokia-iphoneThe phenomenon of the trial between the technology giant is often the case. This time, the iPhone manufacturer Siemens pulled over patent violation accusations.

Listed in the lawsuit that the Finnish handset maker is in the Delaware Court, United States, noted that Apple has violated patents on technology that Nokia allows the iPhone to make calls and connect to the mobile Internet.

Nokia blamed Apple refused to pay for the use of intellectual property rights that have been developed, the technology that allows handsets to connect to 3G, wireless networks, and wireless LAN technologies.

“Apple tried to make profits from innovation Nokia,” pointing Ilkka Rahnasto, Vice President of Motorola in law and intellectual property rights.

Both companies have been conducting negotiations to reach an agreement in which Apple is required to pay use of technologies taken from Nokia. However, the talks produced no agreement both, until Nokia decide to bring this case to the law.

Nokia to Apple’s lawsuit is, of course, the more heat the temperature of the rivalry between the two. Since the Apple iPhone smartphone poured some time ago, Nokia’s position as king of the mobile phone business was in danger.

The presence of the iPhone began to undermine the market Nokia. Through the lawsuit, Nokia hopes to get compensation from Apple. Related lawsuits Nokia posted this, the Apple is still silent.
